Kakel

Died: Semptember 9, 3 KG

Kakel is probibly the most hated king in the history of Saltha. Kakel, born as a noble became the advisor to king ? in ?? KG. In ??, king ?? died of what then apeared to be of naterual causes. Today it is highly beleived that Kakel may have used a drug that was uncommonly known at the time that would kill the king and not seem to be murder, though this is still debated by hisorians weither this is or not fact.

Having no heir, the nobles elected that Kakel should lead them as king, and so on Febuary 4, 12 KG Kakel was corinated king of Saltha.

Kakel was opertunistic and saw the war in the eastern parts of the continent as a oppertunuity at a land grab. And so Kakel declared war, despite advice from his cabinet allying himself with the human nation of Trahern against Braydon and later Sylvane.

In [?? KG] protests began, not only from the war but Kakel's aparent lack of concern for his citizens in the form of harsh taxes. Kakel made promises a few times, promises to lower the taxes, but after a few months the people would realize he had no intentiopn of following through. On September 8, 10 KG (Ironicly the day before he would later die) he took a young man who was a leader of one protest in the capital city and along with his feiance who was also leading the protests and had them in the town square, had them stipped naked and beaten in beoad daylight.

THis ofcourse only inferiated the public more and had the opposite effect that Kakel intended. The time for peaceful protest was over and violent rebellion started. By 3 KG Kakel's army, weakened from the resolve of the rebels and the loosing war were defeated, the capital palace was breached and Kakel was tried by the people's jury on September 7, 1 KG and beheaded on September 9,3 KG. Kakel died at the age of 57.
